Mr Alastair Davidson has been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Hip & Knee surgery for over fifteen years. His NHS Consultant post is at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust in Surrey & Berkshire. He has trained under many world renowned Professors & Orthopaedic Surgeons. He spent most of his postgraduate training at London Teaching Hospitals, and a Specialist Fellowship year in Sydney, as well as a final Specialist Training year at the Hip and Knee unit at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. After finishing his training in 2005 he was a Locum Consultant at the RNOH Stanmore, and subsequently Imperial College Hospitals London, before his appointment to Frimley Health where he now leads the knee fellowship training program.
He specialises in all aspects of Hip and Knee surgery, including Arthroscopy of the Hip and Knee, Sports injuries, Ligament reconstruction, Joint replacement of the Hip and Knee including Partial replacement, Total replacement and Revision joint replacement. He is experienced with robotic hip and knee joint replacement as well as experienced using customised knee replacement including the Conformis knee replacement. He has a particular interest in cartilage repair and resurfacing and participated in the recent national MRC ACTIVE trial on Cartilage resurfacing. He has published and presented nationally and internationally. He has taught on RNOH Stanmore courses and to Imperial College medical students, as well as acting as an examiner. He has also had the privilege of being a British Orthopaedic Association travelling Fellow & currently the BOA Clinical Champion for Frimley Health. Mr Davidson is a member of the General Medical Council, the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the British Orthopaedic Association and the International Society of Technology in Arthroplasty. He is happily married with two teenage children and enjoys his sports such as ski-ing, rugby, golf, tennis, fencing, sailing, and travel.

He is a fee assured, charging within insurers guidelines, & recognised treatment provider for WPA, Bupa, Aviva, AXA PPP, Simply Health, Vitality, Healix, Healthcare RM, Aetna.
Please discuss with your insurer any limitations regarding locations for treatment as some insurers will only allow treatment at some hospitals.
Please be aware that the contract for treatment and payment is between Mr Davidson and his patients so please do always check with your insurer in advance to ensure pre-authorisation and ensure you understand any limitations and excesses for your policy.

Quotes can be provided in advance for the option of "Self-Pay" for Outpatient appointments and Inpatient procedures. New patient clinic appointment £200; Follow up clinic appointments £150. Self pay surgical fees are WPA standard and can be found on the WPA site surgical fee finder.
